I made the big announcement on facebook. lol It probably doesn't seem like that big a deal to some of you, but it was for me. I was happy with just my closer friends knowing, but I have plenty of old friends that I want to know and I don't know their email addresses, so it's the best way to tell them. Plus, it's exciting to have it "public knowledge." Now that I've done it and am getting congrats from old friends and people I only keep up with on facebook, I'm happy and even more excited about the whole pregnancy.
On Saturday night Matt and I went to his office party. His office has annual parties that are usually extravagent and fun. This year was no exception. We had casino night at a nice hotel in Charlotte that included dinner and the opportunity to "gamble" with fake money. At the end of the night you cashed in your money/chips for tickets that you could then enter into raffles for giftcards. At every office party they always have drawings for giftcards, and they are usually really nice ones too! Although Matt and I earned 24 raffle tickets, we didn't win anything. :-( We both did really well playing though! Matt won big at poker and I am a generally lucky person (when it comes to games of chance) so I did well at roulette. Plus, my parents gave us their chips when they left early!
We had a great time! My parents went (since my dad works at the same office) and some other family friends of ours. Matt and I also sat with his co-worker and the co-worker's wife at dinner. She is due in September as well! Then I met another lady who works there and she is also due in September, a week before me. Her bump was huge!! She's a tall, thin person and this is her first baby, but that bump was sticking way out there! I think she was even wearing a maternity dress. She said she had heard the heartbeat, so I'm assuming she isn't having twins (or triplets), but who knows, maybe she is and they just didn't hear all of the heartbeats...is that possible? lol She said she is already wearing some maternity jeans. Which is weird, because I looked at maternity clothes last week, and I don't think I'll be fitting into those until I'm much farther along.
So speaking of maternity jeans, they don't make them in my size (at least at the department stores). I wear a size 1 (junior's) and the smallest size maternity jeans I saw were size 2 and they were massive. Do they make the jeans for different stages of the pregnancy? I noticed some had huge bands around the waist and some had thinner bands. So maybe I could possibly find a size 2 that can fit me before I'm 7-8 months along? One friend who is close to my size said she never wore maternity jeans, just used her belly band the whole time. But my jeans and belly band are starting to be uncomfortable. Even though I don't zip up my jeans, they still feel too tight. So anyway...I'm so confused and my mom is confused and I need help!
