I had a relapse. :-( I actually got completely better...then got sick all over again! So I'm better again and just hoping it'll last this time!
I just want to say, I think my son is a lefty! I've noticed that he uses his left hand more since he started grabbing things somewhere between 2 and 3 months old, but it's more and more obvious now. I didn't even know that a baby could show a preference at such a young age, but that's what it's looking like with Evan.
The little boy who used to live with us used both of his hands equally until he was close to 2 years old. Then it seemed like he started using his right hand more. So I thought that's how it was with all kids.
What hands do your kids use? Do you know if this is something hereditary or something? The only left handed people in my family is my brother and my cousin (who was the same age as my brother). Everyone else is right handed as far back as anyone in my family can remember. My family always thought it was interesting that the 2 of them were left handed and now here's Evan to join them. :-) Everyone in Matt's family is right handed too although he doesn't know about his extended family.

I sure hope you stay better this time!
ReplyDeleteAs for the right or left handed thing, I'm pretty sure Will is left handed. Kumar is too, so it isn't much of a shock really. I can't remember when he really started to show a preference but I think it was since he was pretty young like Evan.
Diego favors his left, i asked the doctor and she told me that all babies play around with both hands and while they may favor one or the other they can't be deemed left or right handed till about three years old.
ReplyDeleteget well soon!
My little brother always used either hand to do things when he was very young, and when he learned to write we discovered he was left-handed. Before that, though, he would even switch hands when coloring or drawing. He still does do some things with his right hand (like eating) now that he's an adult. If I remember right, I think my grandfather was left-handed. Maybe there is a family connection? I find it so interesting! You may have a little lefty on your hands. :)
ReplyDeleteIsaac seems to use both hands really well at this point. He doesn't really favor either one, at least I don't think. My husband is convinced that he will be a left-handed pitcher. :)
ReplyDeleteFeel better! :)
