To completely change the subject, we did so much cleaning and organizing this weekend! Matt was amazing, he helped out a lot. I couldn't have done it without him. We completely cleaned up the office, got rid of a lot of stuff that was taking up floor space. For the past month and a half we've had 4 office chairs in there!! Matt received 2 from a giveaway his office held back in January when they got new chairs. I really wanted to get seat covers or cushions before we started using them (because they attract cat hairs more than our other chairs!). So we haven't been using the new ones, the kitties have. We finally went ahead and started using the new ones even though I haven't been able to find seat cushions (we went to 4 different stores looking for them...no luck). Needless to say, the kittens are NOT happy about this change. They liked having their own chairs when we were both at our computers! We also took out the 2 cat beds that were on the floor that the cats never use anymore. What a big difference!
We also bought a new vacuum cleaner. For the past couple of months our old one has gone downhill. It was a cheap one to begin with, more like a dorm room vacuum than a whole house vacuum. The new one was worth every penny. It cleans so much better...so this is what it's like to have really clean floors! We bought some shelves for one of the closets and have been able to straighten up the living room and utility room with the new storage space. Matt cleaned the entire utility room yesterday. Amazing difference! Once again, he got everything off the floors. Even the kitties' food and water is up on the counter in there to get it off the floor.
We still have a lot to do, especially straightening up our bedroom and the nursery, but we're going to get there! It's so encouraging to already have more room and more order. We went to Good.will yesterday and got rid of a lot of stuff that's been sitting around the past couple of months. We had to borrow my sister's SUV to haul it all off! I didn't take before pictures (mainly because I was so embarrassed at the state it was in), but I did take after pictures to show off!

The kitty space (know what that spray bottle is for? lol And don't ask me why the CDs are on the scratching post too... there's nowhere else to put them so for now that's where they go):

I love organizing stuff! The room looks great:)
ReplyDeleteI have always felt that we have to go through difficult experienses in our lives to grow and become better people....I know that having your miscarraige was one of the most painful and hardest times in your life but I honestly beleive that you are so much stronger and a better person for it.
ReplyDeleteYah for de-cluttering! Love it!!
Xx
I LOVE seeing pics of all the organizing you have done. Your house is so neat (mine is a MESS) I think you may have inspired me to make some more changes to my house.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a space to blog at, I just sit on my chair in the lounge room and put my laptop on my knee. I have been considering getting a desk though.
Another thing I love about pics from someone who lives in another country is seeing what things you guys have that is different to here. So cool:)
Thank you so much Andrea for the sweet messages! I woke up today and something told me to read my blogs, so I logged in while I was in bed, and I read your messages and I woke up feeling good and happy! I agree with you 100% about hope and I know you are right...someday I will be in your shoes and we will both cry and smile about our dreams coming too but we will also know how precious it and savor every moment! If anyone else said what you did, I would tell them to take a hike but coming from you it is different because you know what I am feeling and you know that it can happen. :)
ReplyDeleteThe house is looking good! The baby is going to have a really nice home to grow up in. I can't wait to find out what you are having!
So lovely! Definitely post more pics! I love seeing the rooms in your home!!!
ReplyDeleteThe part that upsets me the most is she is married to another man, so if my brother wanted to make things right with her and the baby, he couldn't because she is legally tied to another man. To add to that...they fight 24/7 and can't seem to go through a family event without storming out mad at one another! He told her that if it wasn't for the baby, he would be done. Neither one has a stable job (well my brother does but only because he works in our family business) and both of them still live at home, so I look at this dysfunctional couple and wonder why God would give them a baby and not me!
ReplyDeleteShe knows I am sensitive and hurt but instead of caring she made a huge show last night. We have one step that leads to our living room and when she took that step she held her tummy as if the baby would go away with one small step...please! Then she rubbed her belly and said oh I can't eat that I am nauticious...it was salad! I just feel like she is trying to make a huge show out of this. She calls this her miracle baby but I think she tricked my brother. She said she was infertile but she thought she was pregnant 4 times within the year they were together this pregnancy being #4. I think she took my issues and made them her own and now she is pregnant. My brother said he never used protection because he thought she truly was infertile...I guess she could have been but he doesn't believe it, so now I am doubting her. WOW, Thanks...I feel so much better!
You have become a great friend to have! Greg and I were going to wait to TTC because I need to lose some weight that I gained from my m/c and tumor but now I am all gung ho to get pregnant (my dr. said it would be okay but would have liked me to slim down more). I hate that I feel like I can't wait because I want to have a baby too...damn them for rushing me! :)
