We've decided to go with a dinosaur theme for the nursery. Matt went crazy when he saw THIS bedding set. I love it too, but unfortunately it is no longer available. We've found a couple of used sets on Ebay, but they are selling for just as much (or more) as the new set was at BRU! I'm still looking though, hoping to find it. So far I haven't found any dinosaur sets that are in stores or being made right now, all I can find are used sets or new discontinued sets that are selling for too much money. I found THIS one yesterday on craig.slist. It's used, but is a good deal. I contacted the seller and am waiting to hear back from her. I hope I do because even though we don't like it quite as much as the other, it's still great and I'd love to get it. I'm determined to find some type of dinosaur bedding!
A co-worker of Matt's is going to give us a swing in a couple of months when his baby outgrows it! So nice!! Another of his co-workers gave him a Bradley method book for us to go over. I considered taking the classes, but I don't think we will. But at least this way we can read and study more about it on our own. My mom bought us a cute little onesie (it's a dinosaur one and she didn't even know that we had decided on a dino nursery at the time!) and an adorable blanket. My MIL gave me this figurine when we went over there last week:
She gave us the couple figurine for our first Christmas together and another one a couple of years ago as a birthday gift for me. I love them!So far the hardest decision we've made on what to buy is a crib. We had finally decided on THIS one (that model has received pretty good reviews and is recommended in the new Baby Bar.gains book), but now I'm thinking about THIS one (of course it's more expensive) and THIS one (which I think is a great deal, but I'm not sure I really love the appearance). The nice thing is that the last two have hidden hardware and I've heard they are really sturdy. I talked to a lady who has the Am.y Co.e and she said she loves it. However, Matt thinks that I'm going to need a drop rail since I'm kind of short (5'3"), but I'm not sure about that. I never used a drop rail with my friend's son. When he was big enough to have the mattress on the lowest setting he was always awake when I put him in bed so I didn't have to lean over. If he fell asleep somewhere else at that age I just left him there instead of putting him in the crib. Worked for me... What do you think? Did you find a drop rail to be helpful or necessary?
I think I felt Evan move again last night, but this time I'm not sure. It was more of a pressure from inside instead of a fluttering. Now I'm positive that the 2 other times I felt that fluttering (at 15 and 17 weeks) were him moving. I've never felt anything like that before or since. The pressure was different though and I suppose it could have been gas (I didn't have gas at the time, but my stomach was feeling upset). You may be able to tell from the sonogram, but I have an anterior placenta. My midwife said I probably won't feel him move much until about 22 weeks. Also, the placenta is very low at this point, causing placenta previa (where it blocks the cervix). I'm going to have another u/s at 32 weeks to make sure that it's moved up and isn't blocking the cervix. The u/s tech said in over 90% of cases it moves up. If it doesn't I'll need a c/s and even though that isn't my "birth plan," it definitely isn't the end of the world. If that's the worse thing that happens this pregnancy I'd be grateful!!

I like the Sarah crib. I think the other two cribs are not as pretty, plus the Sarah one converts into a big bed later (don't recall if the others did that).
ReplyDeleteI have a few Willow Tree figurines! Those are very lovely and I LOVE the one your MIL gave you!
I like the dinosaurs. Hehe. I have a drop side crib. But since I am nursing I co-sleep, lol. Lily started sleeping in a crib at 8 months.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Joy, I love the Sarah crib too. The others are so cute too, but I adore the Sarah one.
ReplyDeleteWill hardly used his crib, he would never stop crying when I put him in it. I caved and let him sleep with us and he is still doing it now. He has his own room and I am thinking that I might just get him a single bed soon and start putting him in it during the day.
I love your dinosaur theme! I think it's so adorable. My sis is using a stars and moons theme for Elias, who is due to be born in a few weeks. I never had a theme really because we rent so we can't paint or do anything interesting. Your so lucky to be able to buy a lovely house:)
Congrats on your baby boy! Boys are fun! I am so happy for you! Good luck on deciding on a crib! It took us forever to find the best one for the best price!
ReplyDeleteHeya! I think the dinosaurs are so cute! That is such a unique theme (I think). I haven't really seen it being used but it's so cute! I'm totally into that Stamford Crib. I like the lines of it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the hubby and I have the couple figurine as well. My grandfather gave it to us last year for Christmas and it now sits on our mantel.
I love the figurine! I have both the couple ones - we used on as a cake topper on our wedding cake.
ReplyDeleteMy mom also just gave me another couple holding a newborn (Our Gift) as a shower present - its so cute!
