Double digits!

Wow, I can't believe that the countdown to Evan's due date has reached double digits! Only 99 more days to go! It's weird to look at the ticker and only see 2 numbers instead of 3. Weird, but very exciting!

Also, I'm excited that I won THIS giveaway. If you haven't visited Dee's blog, then you should check it out. She's amazing, she hosts so many giveaways and writes so many reviews, but also has time to make her blog personal and post pictures of her adorable little boy who shares a name with my son. :-) Now I just have to decide if I'm going to hang on to the toy until Evan is old enough to play with it or if I'm going to give it to someone.

Last night Matt and I talked to some neighbors that live across the street from the people next door to us. So kind of caddy corner to us. We've only talked to them once before, I can't even remember their names! We found out that they have a 24 year old daughter who has a 6 month old girl. And their oldest daughter is in the process of adopting, they are hoping to adopt a newborn by this Fall. Both of the daughters live nearby, Matt and I told the couple who lives across to road to bring them over to introduce them to us sometime (they visit every weekend). It would be great to meet some other young couples who have/are about to have kids!

Speaking of meeting other young mothers, are any of you involved in any sort of social group like MOPS or Le Leche League that meets on a regular basis? If so, what are you involved in and what do you think? I really want to meet some people with babies. I'm thinking about attending a local LLL meeting next month to check it out. As for MOPS, I think I will try a meeting out after Evan comes. A group meets at my old church and I was invited by their leader to come to their last meeting of the semester (they don't meet over the summer) to get to know everyone before Evan comes, but I don't want to go to that group for multiple reasons. There are 2 other groups that meet within 10 minutes of our house, so I guess I'd go to one of them.

  3. my doctor recommended i join some sort of Moms group after i got laid off to help with my depression. i think its a good idea for anyone that has to stay home with the baby. I hope you find some nice people and maybe the neighbors pan out well!

  4. I think it'd be great to try out a Mommy group. I didn't and still don't belong to any Mommy groups but I have family nearby with children the same age, so never really thought about it.

My sister went to a MOPS group (she may still go to it, not sure).

If I had my own car I think a Mommy group would be fabulous to join. The only problem I have is getting over this fear--- because women are so catty and gossipy I find it hard to belong to groups that are exclusively women (even if kids are around).
